Both my son Christopher and my godson Richard are a part of Hoopy Frood – a very fine group indeed. In their words, Hoopy Frood is “A rainbow of sounds, eclectic styles and theatrical moments created by friends.”
Hoopy’s first album ‘Psychonaut’ was released in 2004 to much acclaim. Album No 2 ‘Indigo’ was released in 2009. This was mixed by OTT and tells the story of a girl (Indigo) who, unbeknown to herself, is destined to change the world.
My son Christopher also wrote and sings ‘This is my life’, the last track on ‘Now…Where Were We…?

Zoe is my daughter. For the last 19 years Zoe has made her career teaching dancing – but she is a creative soul and over recent years she has been making quite a name for herself as a photographer. Zoe has provided the photographs used in my website as well as creating the book ‘John Dawson Read – The Words’ in its entirety.

Discovering Pristine Audio was the secondmost influential factor in 'getting back into it'. Andrew Rose spends most of his time transferring original clasical pieces from old 78s to CD - he even has his own label on which he has compiled a collection of absolutely unique 'masterpieces'.
But I know he enjoyed our venture... When I called him, he said " I think I can help" - little did he know. We have now uncovered a lot more material than I would have imagined - some newish and some going back to 'Read On' days. He has remastered 'A Friend of Mine is Going Blind' and 'Read On' from studio session tapes rather than the vinyls - and they do sound good (even if I say so myself). And of course we now have 'Now... where were we?'... with doubless more to come.
So I am sure he would not be averse to doing more of this kind of work - so if you have your own 'tape box' that you always wished was on CD, give him a call.
