Choice links to other relevent sites This is Michael Johnson's website. He is an extremely talented singer, songwriter in who put an MP3 of 'A Friend of mine is going blind' on his site - as a result anyone interested in JDR seemed to communicate through his site. Michael has generously allowed this to continue for at least a couple of years, which has almost certainly resulted in me 'dipping my toes in the water' again. You should visit this site, MJ certainly knows how to deliver a song - and he can really play the guitar! Discovering Pristine Audio was the secondmost influential factor in 'getting back into it'. Andrew Rose spends most of his time transferring original clasical pieces from old 78s to CD - he even has his own label on which he has compiled a collection of absolutely unique 'masterpieces'. But I think he is enjoying our venture... When I called him, he said " I think I can help" - little did he know. We have now uncovered a lot more material than I would have imagined - some newish and some going back to 'Read On' days. He has remastered 'A Friend of mine is going blind' and 'Read On' from studio session tapes rather than the vinyls - and they do sound good (even if I say so myself). And of course we now have 'Now... where were we?'... with doubless more to come. So I am sure he would not be averse to doing more of this kind of work - so if you have your own 'tape box' that you always wished was on CD, give him a call Hoopy Frood are great!. My son Christopher plays with the group along with some seriously talented people (including, absolutely coincidentally, my godson Richard). What can I say about Hoopy Frood ? - to my ear they have a touch of Pink Floyd about them with a bit of Zero 7 or Groove Armada thrown in.. seriously good. Then there is 'Nine Mile Ride'... the same people performing a completely different style of music. I don't know of any other group quite this versatile - visit the site, form your own opinions. Hoopy Frood's CD 'Psychonaut' is distributed by Amboworld I have a nephew, Mark, in Australia. He is a seriously trendy guy who has just released a CD called 'Hero or Dirt' on Sydney's Feral Media label. He is calling himself 'Barrage' and, as he will freely admit, the CD touches on some fairly dark emotions and deep toughts. Having said that, his picture on the CD makes him look a little like Adam Ant!.... I hope he won't mind me saying that! If anyone is interested in what I have been doing for the last 30 years.. the answer is, a number of things, but mostly I have been in a business partnership in marketing which has lasted now for 25 of those years!. My parner in this is Keith Goodfellow. Amongst other things, Keith and his lovely wife Susan, have a beautiful house in Charente in South West France which has two really nice, separate, holiday gites, which they let to holiday makers. So if you fancy a holiday in the sun in France - you could not do better than this.
